Antibacterial Activity of Cyclodextrin‐Azo Dye Inclusion Complex Encapsulated Electrospun Polycaprolactone Nanofibers

Polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofibers incorporating azo dye/γ-cyclodextrin inclusion complex (Azo/γ-CD-IC) were successfully produced. The characteristics of the Azo/γ-CD-IC and PCL/Azo/γ-CD-IC investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Based on SEM prepared nanofiber has a smooth surface with size diameter below 500 nm. Meanwhile, thermal stability Azo was further improved after being embedded into nanofibers. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) used to calculate molar ratio Azo/γ-CD. antibacterial activity PCL/Azo using colony counting method bacterial strains Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus used. results indicated that have enhanced against compared owing complexation. Therefore, these might potential applications in biomedical field.
